Planning Program

Regional Planning activities are organized in the following Planning Programs:

Comprehensive Planning:

Smart Growth (Regional Comprehensive) Plan, Local Plans, Clearinghouse Review and Intergovernmental Cooperation

Community Facilities:

Sewer and other Urban Service Area Planning

Transportation:

Metropolitan Planning Organizations, Long and Short Range Transportation Planning at the Urban and Regional levels, Transit and Multi Modal Transportation Planning, Transportation Planning for Energy Conservation and Air Quality Impacts, Safe Routes to Schools, and other Transportation Planning activities

Open Space:

Recreation, Open Space and Trails Planning and Planning for the Fox River Heritage State Parkway

Environmental Management:

Environmental Management Plan Coordination and Planning for the Niagara Escarpment and Non-Metallic Mining Programs (NR-135)

Economic Development:

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), Economic Development and Housing Programs, Industrial Sites and Buildings, Forestry, and Socio-Economic and Demographic Data Collection

Geographic Information Systems:

Mapping and Aerial Photography
